In our humble opinion, Champagne is just the celebrity version of Prosecco.  However, there are differences between flavours, aromas and overall tasting experience between the two sparkling wines. Here’s the battle that no one asked for:

Prosecco VS Champagne

Location
Champagne comes from the Champagne region in France, while Prosecco comes from Veneto in Northern Italy.

Grape Variety
A blend or single varietal wine made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier makes Champagne while Prosecco is made from Glera grapes.

Dollar dollar
The Champagne process requires a lot of hands-on labor and is more expensive than the Prosecco process. Champagne prices start around $40 while Prosecco prices can start as low as $20. (Don’t be fooled by the price, expensive does not mean better quality. Roll in Taste!)

Taste
Champagne moves towards buttery, bread flavours compared to Prosecco, which is dominated by apple and melon flavours.

If you are always having champagne and don't mind a change, try Prosecco for a fruitier floral experience. We are having the best deal for our Ca’vescovo Prosecco Brut, one the top sparkling wine by glass at the top of MBS. It's light body and gentle apple flavours make it an easy wine to pair with any food- perfect for bottomless brunches.
